IPSO Ventures creates commercial value from intellectual property and technology generated by universities and other research institutions. This is achieved by providing funding, team building, business development and licencing expertise, as well as corporate finance advice. The business was founded in April 2005 by Simon Hunt and Nick Rodgers, who were joined by Dr. Simon Haworth in August 2005. IPSO Ventures is the holding company of the Group and the principal operating subsidiary is IPSO Management. IPSO's principal areas of focus are life sciences, environmental sciences and technology. To date, the Group has helped create and invested in seven companies.
