Rob Sleat


Chief Technology Officer, EnviroGene

Rob founded EnviroGene in 2004. He was responsible for the development, patenting and successful field validation of both the PetroGene and EnviroTrace technologies and leads R&D activities within the company. Previously, he was Technical Director at TraceTag, a spinout company from Minton, Treharne & Davies Ltd, where he developed and commercialised DNA-based tracer technology. Prior to that, he was responsible for the day-to-day management of a research and analytical services division specialising in environmental issues at Minton, Treharne & Davies Ltd.

Rob holds an MBA from Cardiff University, a PhD in environmental microbiology from the University of London and a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology from the University of Leeds.

He has published more than 30 papers, and has presented at conferences throughout Europe and the USA.
